This week’s Illustration Friday theme is Wings. I considered being clever, again, and drawing the wings of a theatre, but the sketches I worked up were pretty geometric and uninspiring. I am surprised that I haven’t seen anyone else doing that yet, this week, though. So, here’s my bird, to join the flocks of other birds that people drew. The proportions, pose, and colouring of the bird are based on a photo I took of a bird a couple years ago, though drawn from the photo, rather than programmatically transformed.

Thanks! This one owes a lot to your drawing, this week. When I saw your bird, I was reminded of the photo I had of a bird that seemed to be curious about me as I took the picture. I also liked the clean, field guide style look, which is what I tried for with this, too.
